Sedation Dentistry
Don't Let Anxiety Stop You
We have sedation dentistry to keep you at ease.

Are you putting off your visit to the dentist because of nervousness or anxiety? Our aim is to ensure the comfort and relaxation of each and every patient we see. With the use of sedation dentistry, Visalia patients’ anxiety is effortlessly reduced. Our patients constantly rave about the fantastic experience they have had with us overcoming their anxiety.
Sedation dentistry is an excellent option, especially if you experience any of the following:
Any of these can make a visit to the dentist not only uncomfortable, but even traumatic. We understand! Dr. Michael Bodensteiner has years of experience in helping patients enjoy a comfortable and successful visit to the dentist – no matter what their challenges may be!
Why Choose Sedation Dentistry?

Nitrous Oxide
Laughing gas is another convenient form of conscious sedation. When patients choose laughing gas they won’t have to remember to take a pill before their appointment.
A breathing mask will be placed over your nose. The gas is mixed with oxygen. As you breathe laughing gas in and out, you will slowly relax.
Nitrous oxide will allow you to be anxiety-free during your procedure. Once the mask is removed, the effects will quickly wear off so you are able to drive home.

Conscious Sedation with Pills
Conscious sedation involves a medication called Triazolam. Taken one hour before your visit, Triazolam will quiet your mind and reduce your stress before and during your procedure.
Patients feel confident when they choose oral conscious sedation. They usually drift in and out of sleep and are able to wake up in order to respond to their doctor’s questions and commands. At the same time, they feel completely worry-free.
Our conscious sedation medication has almost no side effects. You will need to have a driver to bring you to and from your appointment.
From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with smiles and never felt uncomfortable. Everyone is caring and always making sure we are doing and feeling well. The dentist isn't usually a fun place but with Dr. Bodensteiner and his staff, I look forward to going back.
